Dr. Nguyen’s research focus is in Asian immigrant health, cancer control, health communication, and language access. His community engagement work has included outreach to Vietnamese and other Southeast Asian refugees, health fairs, immunization clinics, cancer education workshops, advocacy, HIV/AIDS, and LGBT issues. He is a member of the regional American Cancer Society Asian Advisory Council and is President of the Board of Directors for the non-profit AIDS Services in Asian Communities
Clinically trained in family medicine, Dr. Nguyen also sees adult and pediatric patients in the primary care setting and provides education to medical students and family medicine residents. He also is a Senior Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and a member of Penn’s EPIC Center of Excellence in Cancer Communication Research.
